Hello all, I'm new ! Lately I've been looking at IHCs on ebay, mostly later dates in AU. A full strike is on my radar, as well as the spotting, but it's a series I'm fairly new to and I'd love some opinions on this piece: I'd appreciate some advice. Thanks!

Not sure exactly what you are asking, but it looks nice, low MS with nice color, and I'd buy it in a second if the price was right.

On the later date IHC 1900-1908 particularly, there are a LOT of them in near mint state and lower mint state grades, many of them with some degree of original luster. The only thing to be REALLY careful of is cleaning, as so many of these have been cleaned. Learning to spot cleaning takes time. This coin you have shown us does not appear to have ever been cleaned. However, it is a very common date and unless you are getting a super special deal, I myself would wait. Simply because of the abrasions over the shield on the reverse. Usually I would discount something that minor, but with these dates being so common, you can wait for one that is near perfect. Near perfect will cost a bit more, but in the long run it will be well worth the patience, I believe.

That's a nice coin you picked!
Like moxking, the scratches on the shield jumped out at me. Also, there may be faint remnants of a fingerprint under and running through the date and Liberty's neck. Not a deal breaker, but something to watch out for.
But as you said you like this coin appears to be struck very well and quite high AU (rub on the cheek, ribbon?) and free of spots (oops, except 9 o'clock on the wreath!) and again, like moxking said, free of cleaning.

The shield and fingerprint would be enough to make me pass. Unless you were able to get it for cheap I would keep looking.

Still a very nice-looking coin overall. Price would be a big factor.

The price isn't overly competitive, around the same as most AU-low MS IHCs.
