I found this in my change last night. I just LOVE the color and look on it.

It definitely has some nice dark toning to contrast with the wear.

Been doing its duty!

And, not so common to find memorials exactly like that. I've seen some older wheats with that red patina, but not newer coins. : )

All that matters in coins is if you like it. So if you like it,

I also found a few slightly toned ones, but not enough toning to really bother to keep. This one just stuck right out.

So I'm not the only one that keeps "junk"? I have rolls of modern Lincolns I picked out while roll searching just because I thought they were interesting....mainly because of toning like this. Keep on collecting!

I love coins with character. Especially pennies. They're one of my addictions.
Rest in Peace

I like keeping the coins that just look to me as "nice"! However, It bugs the crap out of me when I go through my collection and find these coins that have no numismatic value.
Rest in Peace

I like circulated coins, too.

Nice find. Enjoy.

Yes, very nice! I would have kept it as well (not just because of the date, either).

Interesting. Looks like maybe it was once buried.

I love this post! I just started collecting within the past year, and I have several rolls of pennies in various lower grades that I like just because of the color, the strike, or one of many other reasons (including PMD)! And, I will not apologize or part with them! lol

Keeping what you like puts the "collect" in "collecting".

And that's exactly why I hate selling off my duplicates in my collection.

I've only sold one coin in my collection that I had a duplicate for.

Which is hilarious because now I have something like 10 1909 VDB's in 2x2's.

Paid $7 for a 1919 Walker in VG and sold it for $25 shipped.

probably could have squeezed more out of it. This was at the beginning of the year.
