My best buys are always from sellers who know little about coins and are selling their Dad/Grandpa's stash. You have to be careful to bid on what you know, because you can't expect someone who doesn't know coins to alert you to problems.
They don't know coins so they don't know cleaning or counterfeits, so you have to be willing to trust yourself when bidding from the unknowing.
Usually those sellers sell very little on ebay, too, so they do not have a big following. I always think that I'm doing them a favor by making sure that at least a few of the coins they sell go into a warm and loving environment.
