A very nice coin I also like the reverse. However I would not consider this coin as near mint state. If It was mine I would give it a grade of VFine. While the coin has very nice details and is well centered. There is wear, a flan crack that goes through 1/4 of the coin , the surface is somewhat porous with surfaces scratches, some of the lettering in the legend is incomplete. Sorry if this sounds harsh don't mean it too.

Wayne Sayles has a series of six books dealing with ancient coins. He covers, Roman, Greek, Byzantine, Roman Provincial, Non Classical, Ancient coin collecting, and Ancient Fakes. These books run around $25 each and I recommend them for the new collector and a good reference to the more advance ones. In his Volume Ancient Coin Collecting, he explains how to grade ancient coins.
