Here is one I came across while looking through my Mercury dimes. Is Strike Doubling (MD) the likely cause for the seeming DD on this 1919?

It looks like MD to me. The devices are reduced and the appearance is flat and shelf like.

It does appear to be Machine Doubling. Otherwise still a nice find.

A typical coin to hand to someone at a bar after they've had a few and say look at the date.

Swear I read an article in the last few months about this date, but I can't recall where. I thought it was about an RPD. Anyone else recall?

Thank you for the assistance everyone! I will have to look through my other 1919's to see if one of those recently found RPD's is in my inventory. One can dream.
