At first I thought it was the D mint overdate. the philly would have had a distinct 1 running up and down the left side of the 2. looks like you have some kind of doubling going on in date.
Sorry, just doubling. I've run across similar doubling once. It's frustrating after looking at 100s of 1942s finally finding SOMETHING only to see it's NOTHING.
Wasn't there a 42overdate posted recently that PCGS/NGC had graded as the overdate but was clearly just a MD example like this? I think the OP was pretty bummed out about it too.
