Guys, I have been beaten down before because I don't seem to be able to determine what is a doubleD die and what isn't, but I think I have one here.
No one should beat you down for not knowing something.
There are many different types of doubling that can be seen on coins, sometimes it is the magnifier you are using that prevents you from seeing things clearly enough to know for sure which type of doubling it is. Many collectors use a 10X loupe, some just use a magnifying glass. I use a 20X loupe and a microscope for extremely close inspection. You can get a decent loupe for around $10.00.
If you get the chance to go to a coin shop and see a true doubled die in person, it will help you understand what to look for.
Mechanical Doubling seems to fool many people who haven't seen a doubled die before.
