Don't know very much about English coinage but this one looks to have nice detail.

I figured I'd post a few coins from my eclectic collection to show collectors a variety of themes, cultures, and possibilities. I hope these will trigger some interest and discussions.

Go ahead and post as many coins as you like. I noticed that you have covered several different regions and time periods already.

awessome man, I like to see some coins diversity. I don't have many western european coins from this time, here's one form the holy roman empire.

England,-Plantagenet-Kings.-Henry-III.-1216-1272.-AR-Penny

(reverse is left, I got them mixed up)

Interesting coin, Chrsmat71. Do you have any cataloging information so I may look up more about this coin?

here's what I was able to find online...

Holy Roman Empire, Archbishopric of Salzburb, Eberhard II, 1200-1246 AD
AR Friesarcher pfennig, o:(right on pic)bishop with crosier, r (left on pic): bishop between crosses. 19 mm, 1.2g

one of the interesting things about this coin is the pattern on the obverse of some coins from this period. I guess when they struck these coins, they did one side (obverse), then flipped the coin and stuck it again..which damaged the obverse.

Ah, I knew the coin looked familiar. It's probably better cataloged as Austria, Eberhard II. von Regensberg, (1200-1246 A.D.), Duchy of Steiermark, Friesach under Archbishopric of Salzburg. I wish I had more books on medieval European coinage, then I wouldn't shy away from them as much.
