I recently read a biography of Tamerlane and agree with you wholeheartedly. This guy campaigned and conquered as far off places as Delhi in India; most of what is today Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, and Iraq; north to Armenia and Georgia; and west to Syria and parts of Anatolia. Amazing!
