Interesting. It has the softly-struck look of a cast counterfeit, yet you'd expect anomalous wear from being mounted in a keychain where it spent its' whole life in a pocket being slammed around. I don't see any glaring problems with the details aside the overall look.
Look closer. I believe you'll see a San Francisco mint mark. See the date and upper lettering on the reverse, drawn to the edge? Classic for San Fran 1921's as they pushed their dies to the wear limit.
