Is there a comprehensive list for the key dates and errors.

By errors I mean the known ones like 2000 $1 mule and 1966 wavy 20 cent, for example.

Can someone please direct me to a list or list them all here, the errors and the scarce and rare key dates.

Ten Cents
1999 - date close to rim (large head?)

Twenty Cents
1966 - wave
1966 - gap in swirl (according to an old post on this forum)
1981 - claw - look for the wave based letters for confirmation
1981 - a dot above the r in Australia
2001 - rotated
2004 - pointy A
2007 - thick or thin 7 - thanks Nancy
2008 - gap in swirl (since heard about this gap being found in various years)
2010 - bubble

Fifty cents
1970 - angled 7
1979 - double bar
1980 - double bar
1994 - wide date
2000 - incused
2000 - fat letters in Millennium
2004 - pointy A
2010 - rotated
2012 - bubble
There are various years where the double bar has been found, sometimes quite faint

Dollar
2000 - mule
2001 - rotated

These are the variations I know of. Others may have a better idea of rare dates but I believe
1972 five cent
1985 ten cent are a couple

Hello all

I was looking through my 2001 Federation of Australia 50c series and found an " upset " one for Victoria. Very similar to the 2010 " upset " 50c with the reverse being on an angle to the obverse of about 1.30 to 7.30. This 50c, luckily, is in Ch UNC condition.

There could be some/a few more of these rare " upset " 50c around, but after looking through a few hundred I haven't been able to find any more.

Hope there might be others.

cheers

Any Australian coin catalogue lists decimal coins and their mintages. Ian McConnelly I think published a book on errors recently, and I think it included decimals. Fred Lever also has a decimal varieties book.

It is also worth bearing in mind that a lot of the Pre Decimals And Decimals in HIGH Grades are Rare and keenly sought after by Australian collectors as well.

I believe there are two bubbles on the 2012 fifty cent. One is above the kangaroo's nostril in the blade of grass and the other is in the blade of grass to the right of, and below the emu.
There really three lists that need noting. One is variations, one is low mintage (therefore rare) and the third is errors (The latter would be largely unlimited but with notable repetitions such as the one dollar rabbit ears.)
My interest is in the variations. As noted in previous posts, I don't think the 5 cent flamingo is a variation, but is an error.
