Post desirable coins you've found while hunting that have been altered or damaged intentionally by others. I'll start it off by posting what would of been a "hole filler" for me. This is a 2009-P Kennedy half, known by many as a "NIFC" due to the low mintage. It has been destroyed by permanent marker.

A nice acetone bath would remove that "permanent" marker....well....permanently.

I use 90% Alcohol to remove such marks.

Although I agree that acetone will repair that damage, it still shocks me to see it!

I might need to be careful following this thread.

When I first saw this, I noticed extra lines around the leaves and then the reverse date that was from the 1970's. I kept it anyway for my fake error collection
