Hi All,

Seeing all these countries starting to introduce "tactile banknotes" to aid the vision impaired, plus a lot of countries have them for many years now. It got me wondering, which is the first country to come up with the idea? Anyone know?

Thanks heaps in advance.

I have no idea who was first, but as one data point, the 100F France Delacroix, from 1978, is the earliest in my collection.

Holland 1974. With strikingly coloured designs which incorporated tactile features.

Thank you both Dave M and thai-vic for the info.

Wow 1974, would never have imagined it was introduced that long ago!

Thanks for the updated info Angielczyk.

I never imagined these tactile features were introduced in the 70s, I thought it would have been much later.
