I picked this up as a replacement/upgrade and wanted to see what the CCF Members thought of her. I am also trying a different format with single side images instead of the side-by-sides, hopefully they are bigger. Thank you for your interest and comments!

I'm thinking 65 .... might rate a 66. It looks better than my 65.

That is a nice coin. IMHO... I'd say no less than 65.

64 because of dings on the figure and some scratch on the other side below SAN DIEGO. Is that a dd on the HALF DOLLAR legend?

MS63. Lots of reverse chatter.

Beautiful Commem! There are a few distracting marks on the obverse, particularly the chest and left arm. Looks to be some hits and chatter on the reverse as well. It appears from the photos that it has the luster of a 65, but I think this one is graded MS 63.
Awesome photos btw!

If this were graded by PCGS or NGC I have no doubt it would gain a 64 for sure, and maybe a 65. When looking at these large photos it's easy to focus on a few minor abrasions. From the number I've seen, bought, and sold, I think the two major grading houses would be likely to give this coin a 65.

This is a lovely coin and the excellent photographs provided highlight every detail of the coin. The 1935/1936 San Diego half dollar (common name) is available to today's collector with booming luster ... you have obviously chosen such an excellent example. I'm going to be the current exception here on grade ... my judgment (with some experience in MS commemorative)is that most of what we are viewing is either holder scratchers or acceptable minor bag hits. I'm going PCGS/NGC MS66 ... and a worthy example of this commemorative type. Well selected indeed. David

I'll go with MS65+ - excellent looking coin.

There was quite a wide spread on this one and one mighty close variety attribution. It's not a Doubled Die...it's the FS-101 Quadrupled Die and Repunched Mint Mark, unattributed...but not for long. Pick up points: lower portions of LIBERTY and mintmark on the reverse repunced to the northI find it unusual that NGC does not recognize this variety although it is in the CherryPickers Guide.

Wow... I was way off on the grade. I'm afraid I over examined (if that's a thing, lol) with your amazing photos that you provided. I could see so much detail that it appears I must have marked off too many points for what were acceptable hits, and probably not as noticeable in hand as on the computer screen.
Wonderful luster and great coin! I wish I would have asked about that D mint now. Lol, I actually went to NGC explorer to see if I could find an example of a repunched mint for this Commem and couldn't find anything, so I didn't ask. You're right, it's a shame they don't recognize this variety.

The images were from the seller, I should have disclosed that in the OP.
