Mine collection

Galba sestertius

there are fare beter example, I like this coin Roma is so cool.

Obverse : SER GALBA IMP CAES AVG TR P Laureate, draped bust right.

Reverse : ROMA S C Roma seated left on cuirass, right hand holding vertical spear, left arm resting on shield.

I buy coins where I can see they have a life!!

Mint : Rome struck June to August AD 68

Size/weight : 36 mm 24.43 g 7h


Reference : RIC I 241; BMCRE 89.

You don't see too many examples of Galba sestertius. This one has some environmental damage but still retains excellent details. Overall a very nice coin.

rough, but big heavy and cool. maybe it had bronze disease in the past? that makes those circular cavities sometimes.
