For my nickel I have 2 choices and I narrowed it down to 2 :D Although, I think mine is a -01. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 07/27/2015 3:08 pm Sometimes markers are added to the die, after your coin was struck. Some fade with time. (die scratches) Some are covered over with new die scratches. Report this Post to the Staff
BlueSolo Pillar of the Community United States 740 Posts	Posted 07/27/2015 5:13 pm Right, I also figured once the mint catches onto the lathe line mistake they polish it out. Which would mean lathe line errors come from some pretty fresh dies that haven't had much chance to get some wear on them. Report this Post to the Staff
