SSK, I can feel your pain on not being able to attribute these well. For my nickel I have 2 choices and I narrowed it down to 2 :D
Although, I think mine is a -01. A lot of the die markers are so minimal since they come from fresh dies they are very hard to locate

Sometimes markers are added to the die, after your coin was struck. Some fade with time. (die scratches) Some are covered over with new die scratches.

Right, I also figured once the mint catches onto the lathe line mistake they polish it out. Which would mean lathe line errors come from some pretty fresh dies that haven't had much chance to get some wear on them.
