I got this dime in change today. One side of the rim looks fatter than the other side, is it considered an error?

HT - this is a minor error, probably a MAD dime. But if the reverse rim is similar, then you may have an offcenter strike (also an error). To be of value, the degree of offset (MAD or Off-center) needs to be significant. Do a search on MAD or Offcenter and read up a bit. Lots has been discussed where here I do it little justice.
Rest in Peace

This is extremely common on dimes. There's not much interest in them unless some of the devices are missing.

I kind of think they're fun -- but they're only worth a dime.

If you look up Misaligned Die on ebay you will (probably) see the ones that have some premium value.

MAD, I personally think dimes in specific that are MAD's only demand a true premium when the rim is gone on one side.

I looked at three that are on ebay now and I think they all have less rim than yours. One looks very close to yours. So, maybe your coin IS worth a couple of bucks.
