I've been following this drama for the last couple days

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Five-Silver...em58c98a9e9b

If it is an authentic 1871-cc it's worth at least $1000 as a Fr2 or AG3. But clustered among 4 non-descript common dates and not very well photographed it's hard to tell. I can make out the tops of the 871.

6 minutes to go. You have to zoom on the area below Liberty and you can make out the shadow of the duck-bill-like top of the 1 and the curves on the top of the 7.

It's a CC, but after zooming in I saw a 1 at the end, so it must be 1871.

Interesting, I suppose the price was okay if it turns out to indeed be the 1871-CC sure looks like it, the CC is correct, but closer to the ribbon than I've seen before, and with only one variety for this date/mm combination. The close proximity could be from wear though.
