Sorry, not sure of your point. Do you think the description is unfair or incorrect? Otherwise, what is wrong with relisting it because of a return, or non-sale?

It's a shill bidding operation CoinFrog.

If he's shilling he's not very good at it. You're not supposed to be buying your own coins.

You'd think his bidder i***t would have been pretty happy after winning it once $1300 and then getting it next time for only $416! But alas they quickly returned it again for more re-bids!

Thanks for the education, everyone. I don't buy much on E-bay (clearly).

this is a disclosure in one of his auctions (1878-CC 50c) Quote: Auction is subject to cancellation or prior sale until the last day of auction, so please place your strong bids early. Better get in those big bids in early!

There must be many of us out here, including cherrypickersaddict, novices all, who find this subject rather beyond our reach and sort of scary. So I ask dsfreeworld, is your quote reference the sort of red flag we should be looking for? I am sure there is much we can learn from you and kanga, among others.

There's one bidder with 56 feedback who lost it once, won it once, and is now top bidder for the current auction. Something isn't right.

One of the ways I try and detect a shill bidder, is to look at the bidder's history and see if he/she is placing their bids with the same seller a large percentage of the time. Also, if a coin is unusually highly priced compared to what it should be, that's also a sign. Centsles and Great Southern Coin used to do it all the time, but I'm happy to say, not so much lately. BTW, nice detective work as usual.
