I almost rejected this because of the dent on the right side reverse. Then when I looked closer, I thought it might be broadstruck because of the way the obverse rim appears, as well as the date and mint mark not being properly formed.

There's also a misalignment with a finned rim, and what looks like to be a partial collar strike, as well.

Your opinions, please?

Thanks in advance.

Looks like a Dryer Coin with a little MAD and a dent in the rim...

That gum residue tops off the coin...

kakaratt, I thought of Dryer Coin, too. But that would affect the high points first, as well as the rim of the coin. The high points are relatively clear of dryer scuff marks and the edge of the coin has a fair amount of the "railroad wheel" look to it.

I agree that what looks like a hard hit to the area near LIBERTY looks like PMD, the rim is deformed there. And even if it was PMD (which it easily could be), it wouldn't account for the deformation of LIBERTY and the date -- while IGWT is fairly crisp, albeit seemingly weakly struck there.

As for the gum residue, good eye there, OspreyCoins. A few seconds of acetone will remedy that.

I don't think it's a Dryer Coin, looks like some sort of an error. Mike needs to chime in on this one.

Part of the edge being bigger than the other part makes me want to say partial collar, but I'm not confident making this judgement since I'm looking through mobile.
Rest in Peace

Looks like a partial collar that has been damaged. So it would not be a broadstrike since a broadstrike is struck completely out of the collar. Too bad about the damage.

Thank you. Partial collar matches what I was just looking at online.

Is there no way that the strike, itself, could have caused the rim on the right reverse to fold like that--maybe from a loose die or collar? It is in the same area where date and LIBERTY are deformed (which seems to be strike related rather than die related since IGWT rendered correctly...)

Thank you in advance your time and thoughtful answers.
Rest in Peace

Pyrbob beat me to it. My exact thoughts. I believe the damage negates any real collector value.
