Looks more like a 97 than a 96, but either way, I prefer it to the 21.

I would keep the one you most enjoy looking at when you hold it. It's hard to tell from the photos which one has more eye appeal in hand.

Yeah my bad I edited it to '97 there thanks! The 97 does have some rub on the cheek and hair above the ear as well. Also too consider which would be able to sell for more I suppose?

I agree with Classic Coins keep the one you like best and sell the other one. Do either of the coins have a mint mark?

Whichever one looks best and has the least marks or problems.
Either can be replaced for a reasonable sum.

I would sell them both and buy a nicer, higher-end one.

I'm with cartwheel collector on this one. Sell both for a nice date and MM of your choosing for a common 63 or 64 or add a few bucks and get a 65 for future liquidity.

Well these are the last of six I bought from a family friend ($19 a piece for these two and one other the other three at $13 a piece). I want to keep one but need to sell the other since we went and bought some Thomas Kinkade items at an auction we need to make up for (I also got some silver quarters for spot but those I resell so just her items we need to make up for). So keeping both and selling both to get another are unfortunately out of the question right now. Thanks for the advice all! And the 1897 is S mint and 21 is P mint

Well, then keep the 97-S for sure! But the 21 will only get you a half a tank of gas or a couple of steaks so I'm a little confused here.

Yup I have put the 21 up for sale on the Bay now! Thanks for your advice everyone! Basically it seemed to me they would fetch about the same money wise so wanted to see which people would keep all things else the same

I'll take any 1904 or before Morgan over a 1921 any day of the week and even on Sundays too.

I don't like the 21 morgan's, so I'll go with the 1897.

Yeah to me they seem to Have the air of "super common" Morgans so any other date would be better lol
