Instead of China, let's have one from India!

That date, though..

It's a pretty good looking counterfeit.

I noticed from another post claiming that a Morgan was fake, the eagle seemed to be "smiling" to me, now he is "angry" can you post a picture of how it suppose to look like?

The date is a dead giveaway. Here is what an authentic Morgan looks like.

here is the fake

Note how the "3" is cartoonish.

You'd still have to be on your game to catch it.

Looking at the rest of this seller's inventory, I'm not seeing other stuff that's worrisome - I think it may well be that he's unaware that he's offering a forgery in this case. The test would be to contact him and see if it's withdrawn.

It's sad to say but I simply don't buy coins from anyone living outside the USA, with the exception of Canada.

I also don't sell to anyone outside the USA and Canada.

While that might restrict both the opportunity for good buys and more sales, it just didn't work for me.

I quit selling to "the world" when I was having problems with about 1 in 20 sales. A huge margin, since my USA sales were no problems at all.

Same with buying. I received too many coins that looked great from the (doctored) photos, only to receive a silver crown made of lead.

Granted, this was before ebay went so in favor of the buyer that the buyer really has very if any gamble.

Still, I've given up on working the world.

I agree. This one is good enough to fool a lot of inexperienced collectors.

Yeah this one can fool most collectors. The huckster did a good job on making it look old and circulated.

This is the reason I heeded advice from another member here and am only buying slabbed dollar coins. I'll still take a chance on lower denominations but for the dollar it's too risky to buy raw. I just got a cleaned peace the other day |:(

This is not to say that the coin still might be silver, though.
