 We recently completed to 100% the current PCGS Complete Kennedy halves Variety Set (1964-present), Circulation Strikes and were awarded #1 status for 2015. We were teenagers in Dallas when President Kennedy was murdered by a coward lurking in the shadows, and we always admired him and his presidency (and Jackie was a nice change from Mamie Eisenhower as well). We started the set in 2007 or so unaware of what it would become, when we bought on a lark an MS65 Prooflike NGC 1964-D silver Kennedy half that was pedigreed to the first day of issue and Kenneth Bressett, editor of a Guide Book of United States coins. (To this day it remains the only Mint State silver Prooflike Kennedy half certified.) From there we branched out into buying/making just the regular "business strikes," then the proofs, and finally all the dozens of arcane varieties that this complete collection is rife with. A lot of the earlier coins have nice images loaded at PCGS; those photos were taken by our excellent coin photographer friend, Todd Pollock of www.BluCCPhotos.com. Well, there are always more upgrades that are possible but one can only spend so much on coins while simultaneously planning to actually retire one day .. or at least work less! I stand corrected. Tim and Caleb's set, had they published it this year, would have outranked mine. As Tim has pointed out.

Very nice! And most certainly Todd Pollock of BluCC is one of the best coin photographers in the business, if not THE best. He's done many coins for me, and I couldn't recommend him more highly. |
