Just wondering if anyone is planning on going to the show next week? I have never been but plan on going 2 days hopefully. I was planning on bringing some stabbed coins there to see if any of the dealers would be interested in them. Is this a good idea or do dealers frown upon that?

I'll be attending the show as well. Would be my first major coin show too.

I'll be attending it as well. It will be my first coin show & time in the Chicago area. Don't know what to expect but sounds line a fun place to browse/buy and learn about coins/currency.

Yup I will be there with my family. It is huge (only been to the ANA last year) as far as I know. I am unsure as to your question Lincoln since we just went to buy but I don't see why it wouldn't be a good idea

I'll be there on Thursday and Friday (was going to be Wed and Thursday but my father reserved the wrong days at the hotel.) Bringing STABBED coins? For those of you for which this will be your first show, prepare to have your mind blown. Quote: Is this a good idea or do dealers frown upon that? Dealers have to get their coins from somewhere, they don't make them in the back room. What they WOULD frown on would be if you are trying to sell them to other collectors attending the show. They have paid THOUSANDS of dollars for their tables and other related expenses to be able to buy and sell to the attendees. They don't look too kindly on competition that gets to undercut all of their overhead.

I would encourage everyone to go if you can - you'll have a blast. . And sure, bring coins to sell if you like, just keep them very secure as you walk around.

I'll be there all day Friday. Hey Conder should we meet up at lunch again? My shift at the MSNS table is 12:30 - 3:00.

I usually avoid large shows due to the prices being inflated so much. However, I'm running out of available coins at local shows. So I will probably be going to this one on either the 13th or 14th and even possibly the 15th. Got to save some money for the Itasca coin show on the 16th though. I sure wonder how much the parking fee will be now. Last time I was there it was $11. I heard it has gone up but not sure. At least with that $2 discount coupon it is now down to only $4 for the entrance fee.

Parking and entrance fees at coin shows? Never paid either. One of the local shows is at a multi-event venue. Attendees for the other events pay for parking, those attending the coin show do not. The parking attendants will ask and wave me through when I say coin show.
