Hello, is there a way to tell where an unc roll of Presidential dollars was minted without tearing it open? I live in PA, my uncle lives near Denver and sent me a few rolls that got mixed with my Philadelphia rolls.

Thanks!

Hi dgoldy88

Welcome to the forum !

As far as I know there is no way to tell the difference between the two mints from just the obverse or reverse .

If they are rolls from the bank the paper itself does not add any value to the coins in other words it won't cost you anything to open an end so you can sort the rolls .

I did the same thing, with Jefferson rolls. I mixed up a Denver with a Philadelphia. It has been 4 months since I did this, and I have yet to open them up.

Thanks, my son and I are starting to collect the dollar rolls and going through several bags of old pennies. Unfortunately, I have about 10 rolls intermixed. Any suggestions on where to get UNC George Washington rolls besides the mint and ebay? Our bank no longer has them.

You can always check the coin shops in your area ,,but to get them for face value your pretty much stuck with going to the banks and asking for them .
