1830 Capped Bust Half Dollar: Large Letter? Help A Novice.

rsarnheim New Member United States 3 Posts	Posted 08/04/2015 8:43 pm I found this offered at an estate auction. It was listed as a 1830 Capped Bust half dollar. From a bit of help from google, I was convinced it was a large letter variety (O-114). If it isn't I overpaid a bit. I'm hoping that even in it's condition, it still exceeds the $90 I spent on it... although if it's genuine, I think I'll hold onto it regardless of value. Report this Post to the Staff

rsarnheim New Member United States 3 Posts	Posted 08/06/2015 10:08 pm I'm really glad to hear that it looks like the genuine article. What do I do now? Do I get it graded? Is one of the grading companies a better option than the other? If I do get it graded, should I go to a coin shop or can I send it in myself. Although, I'm glad to hear that my 90 bucks is covered, I'm more excited to have a nice (however flawed) piece of American history and I want to treat it appropriately. Report this Post to the Staff
