According to the PMG website, you either need to a member of the ANA or the PMG Collectors Society to submit notes directly.

Or through a authorized dealer. But there are very few authorized dealers in Canada and none in Vancouver where I live.

Should I stay with the Banknote Certification Service (BCS) which is having a summer sale for $7 per banknote, min 10.

The problem BSC gives a lower grade for the same banknote submitted to PMG.

I thought so too but J&M Coins is not listed on PMG's list of authorized dealers.

The grading standards in Canada and USA are different.

BCS uses Canadian standards, which are a bit stricter. There are many collectors who avoid PMG graded notes all together, as they tend to be over graded.

BCS with their summer deal, probably works out to $15/per note all in, sending to PMG is going to cost you $60+, take much longer etc, etc....but yes, if you want your grades inflated, that is the cost of grade shopping.

I had a 1937 $2 PMG66 and a BCS 62....guess which one I kept because it had better centering, eye appeal, and no discernible difference on the corners?

We all agree BCS is a harsher grader, better for buyers, but as of now it's not highly regarded in the US marketplace as PMG OR pcgs, so it depends how rare and expensive your note is.

Not sure where you live, but when I submit my notes to PMG (i live in the states), I go to a national show where they will take the notes and I save 1 way postage. Contact PMG to see if they will be at a show near you.
