While searching for the latest 2 Disney Princess coins I need to catch my set up on ebay I found all of these listings openly selling and taking pre orders for clad "replica" coins marked .999 sterling. Truly sad that everywhere I look is more and more counterfeit coins.

at least the seller is up front and says its a replica and not silver.

I do wonder how long Disney will allow this sell, something tells me they don't like their likeness being sold by a 3rd party

If it is a "coin" not a token, then I think less that Disney has any say than the Mint, since the Mint is the only one able to legally make coins, not Disney. If Disney makes coins now.. then they are just trying to illegally take that like everything else since Eisener got involved.

The sale of these on ebay is just the tip of the iceberg if coins are being produced that say, on the coins, "1 oz 999 Fine Silver" (followed by a Disney copyright) as shown in auction scans while they are actually clad coins. The real problem is not the ebay sales, but is the manufacture of the items. So I contacted Disney.

Good old Wikipedia tells us, "Niue is notorious among coin collectors for their frequent flooding of commemorative coins." They have a special currency set up for this, legal tender on the island but unlikely to be found there, while their business is done using New Zealand coinage.

From various sources, I see that these coins are a substantial chunk of Niue's GNP.

Yes...the genuine .999 silver coins are indeed. But these are Not Allowed counterfeits and openly sold as clad Disney fakes. Makes me sad just like all the other counterfeit everything coins on ebay from Not Allowed.

I have seen 6 at a time for one price of about C$26. I know it is too good to be true, so I do not go there. My problem is after these cheap coins come in they can be resold. Most come from China, as expected. Reporting them would be an endless task, they are so numerous.
