Hi,

I am looking at this coin. Possibly interested, but I will sit on it a bit before making a decision. But in the meantime, what is that green dot between the O and C on the reverse, right next to the beads? Could I do anything about it if I bought it? I wouldn't want to take it out, but if there is anything I could do that will clean it up and not damage anything else, I would consider it.

here's the item

As much as it looks like verdigris, I think that it may be on the holder. Just left of the dot you mentioned and not on the coin, just on the holder, appears to be the same material. Also, there is a similar mark at 4 o'clock on the rev. that appears to be raised above the plastic.

Asked the seller. They got back to me really quickly. Unfortunately the dots are on the surface of the coin :(

For what it's worth, this particular seller is high on my list of most trusted. I've had at least a dozen very favourable dealings with them, every purchase has met or exceeded my expectations plus they ship very promptly. I agree, it's worth posing your questions to them.

Even if you were to buy the coin and remove it from the holder and clean off the verdigris from the coin. Where the verdigris once was it could leave a dark spot on the coin depending on how deep the verdigris has eaten into the coin.
Personally I stay away from coin's like this and wait for another one to come along
