Won this last night. For the price I am not unhappy at all as I have always wanted a lustrous looking raw IHC. My best guess is that this is damaged on the obverse from staple scratches but that aside, what is the technical numerical grade? AU55? AU58?

Thanks for looking

I would think this could go AU-58.

I think those are more serious (wnd more contemporary) gouges than staple marks, but they don't ruin the coin's eye appeal for me either.

I'm seeing a slightly circulated coin with an indifferent strike, maybe an older die pair. Technical details certainly no worse than AU55 - virtually all the feather tip detail (as much as was struck) remains.

Yeah, I'm at high AU, but my eye is immediately drawn to the hits.

For $12 I can pretend they're not there

For $30, in RB like this, I might not have spent the money because I cannot pretend that well!

Is it too much to say I'm jealous?

AU-55.
