Hello CCF world! I've just signed on with the CCF.com to increase my contacts with the Coin World. I have been sorting through the inerds of my 45+ year old piggy bank which contained about 13,000 cents and found the 50, or so, Canadian coins shown in the attached image. If there is a coin here that a numistimist can't live without (or, almost ..... HA!) I would be interested in your feedback. Thanks for your review.

WOW! I just reviewed this posting and concluded that the limitation on image size of 200 KB is going to be a problem with viewers when they zoom in. HMMMM! ?

the image is too small to see if there are any specific varieties, but I do not see any key dates in the mix.

Looks like a trip to the bank. Just deposit them.

That must have been one heck of a secure piggy bank to survive unemptied for 45 years!
You might want to share your strategy with children of today:-)

I think I see a 1947 Maple Leaf, 2nd full row up from bottom, 2nd from right. That's cool. Maybe worth a quarter.

A note to kbbpll: I have the 1947 Canadian cent posted with large images in the "World and Ancient Coins Forum" at http://www. (052) Not Allowed - Auto-Removed .com, if you would like to view much better images (1.1 Mb) of the coin. The images are posted with the subject "1947 Canadian cents varieties". I'd be glad to send it to you, if it adds to your collection.

Thank you for the offer pocketchange2 but honestly I don't have much collector interest in Canadian copper, despite that I find the 1947ML/1948 coins interesting because of the story. Isn't it a shame that you can't even give these away? :) We have to plan a trip to Canada just to return their currency in person. I must have $20-40 face value lying around my house with no place to go...

OK kbbpll.....thanks for the response. You probably saved this one from the melting pot, at $2.32/pound.
