Sounds like you have a coin that the die that struck it had the post that forms the center broken off. Not a lot of interest in these. All coins after this happens it have this from this die. Not enough of an issue to retire the die. No premium for this.

The 1974-D cents are most all that way. It can be a challenge to find one that looks normal.
