I am trying to attribute this coin.
I believe it to be a Julian II, and the mint-mark, (I am guessing), is 'ANTS'which would indicate to me 'Antioch', but I cannot find a RIC reference to such a coin, esp. with 'B' in the left field. ,
Can anyone help please? (B.D.?)
AE18 mm., 2.4 gm.

Boy, that came out of 'left field'.
Because of the last one being Julian II, I read 'Julianus' into the obverse legend, but now that you put the words in my mouth I can see DN CONSTANTINUS PF AVG. Will I EVER get the hang of this?

Thanks B.D. One day I might be able to do something for you.

Just posting coins is enough for me.

Over time your personal knowledge base will increase and what may seem a bit uncertain now will become more and more clear in the future.

Thanks.
I have soaked this one in D.W. for some period of time and I have hit it with the (hard) toothbrush (with shortened bristles) and that is pretty much the best I can do without using 'stronger' methods.
I am happy with the attribution and to leave it as it is, for now.
For the many hundreds of coins that I have bought, I am yet to sell a single one. My pile of Constantine/Constans/Constantius' would fill a small album on their own. I will, no doubt have more trouble with more coins, so, please, watch this space.
