Hello all,
I found this coin in my change today and am curious if anyone knows what it is? Is this a coin at all? It has a bust on either side and I Googled the text on the best side with no luck. I am also puzzled at the sandwiched appearance along the edge. Any help is greatly appreciated.

There is a denarius struck under Nero with the reverse of Agrippina II. Your piece is similar, but yours doesn't appear right. The seam along the edge is a sure sign of a fake. The coin fabric doesn't appear to be silver either.

I'm going to move it over to the Ancient coin section for more comments.
Rest in Peace

It is a cast counterfeit. Raised bubbles, larger inscription, lack of details even at center, and most importantly, the line on the edge where the two molds met.

Usually the counterfeiters makes some effort to remove those casting lines with a little sandpaper or sanding wheel and then gives it a bit of dinging and aging to cover the edge damage. That wasn't even done on this one.

Thank you all for the information. I figured it was probably a fake as it looked like two coins smashed together due to the gap visible on the edge. I almost pried them apart but wanted to know if it was worth anything first. For being so worn down you all did a great job helping me! Thanks again! The coin is no loss as I received it as change but it is still an oddity to toss in the foreign coin can. :)

I bet that was an eye opener when you looked through your change.
