I really don't know, it's kind of curly. Most die cracks I've seen curve one way or are fairly straight. Hopefully someone will know. Appreciate your looking.

I don't see a reason why a die crack can't be curly. It's just following the weaker/most stressed points on the die.

Were it struck through an object the anomaly you see on your coin would be incuse. What you have is in relief, showing where coin metal filled the void left by a crack in the die.

Looks like a die crack to me. There is also some MD on the devices below the baseline.

Die Crack it is! Thanks all, and appreciate the info on struck through Stoneman. I don't know who you really are Stoneman, but I know you are extremely knowledgeable in this business. From one Virginian to another, thanks. I never did hear anything back on my retained 1980 LMC.
