Looks legit to me. It has some cleaning to it though. The value would be around $200-$250. What did you pay for it?

If authentic, that would sell on ebay on any given day around $235-$280. I have been looking to pull the trigger on one myself for a while.

You paid a little high, but if you plan to keep long term its not bad. If you do want to resell, I recommend sending it in, not many will buy unslabbed Trade dollars.

Hi, I recently bought what is the worst ever fake 1877 Trade dollar purely for the amusement factor and to show what absolute rubbish is being manufactured in attempt to trick coin collectors. I only wish all fakes were this easy to spot.

Here are the pictures: I'd really like to know who this Gop is they so willingly trust!

So what exactly does this have to do with the original thread?

It was to show that there are a lot of obvious fakes out there and hopefully by putting an image of an obvious fake coin on this thread, they could make a comparison.

Thanks
