Hi again

I have this penny here with missing 2 digits on the date.
The "S" in trust and the "D" mint mark are very faint. The "T" in trust I'm not sure how well it can be seen, but the "T" is missing the bottom I believe, I'm thinkings whats on the bottome of the T may be some sort of a dirt mark. The best I can see it looks as though the bottom of the "T" is missing. The coin is a little dirty so I'm having a hard time making out the letter T. Is this caused by Grease Filled Die or maybe a wear and tear sort of thing? This is the third one I came by that was missing a letter or date. Does this happen often, and would be considered an error coin? I know lots of questions, sorry about that

Thank you cwb for the link. Its fascinating
looking at all the others as well as seeing all the different
types of errors. So the missing letters or numbers it's considered
a error coin?
I know I'm going to sound stupid here,
But does this happens because of the grease filling?
Is it possible something else could cause it?

It is an error, but not a valuable one. They are called filled die errors because the die will become filled with grease, dirt, or some other grime and cause that portion on the design to be missing from the coin.
I don't know of anything else that would cause this other than something filling the die. Over polishing a die can cause some features to be missing as well, but usually to a different extent.

This 1974 shows the results of an over polished die.

There is actually no premium for this. This is just a knowledge thing on how bad a die can get when it is over polished.
