Shocking news from other forum and thanks for the RFD members for update: NZ Mint feels that the customer attention and the money goes to the Superman series by RCM, minted Star Wars series, taking in account previous series mistake. And now: **Mintages only 500! (gold coin) - people will fight for them, specially due to Star Wars VII coming soon **"Darth Vader" as the first coin - confirmed **Public guesses and wishes: "Death Star" concave coin - will be the hit!

do I understand correctly new Star Wars coins are coming out from the NZ mint? Yes, Yup, right. I probably rushed, due to the post on other forum. Could be that the release on December, similar to movie. Their site shows this...but this unclear: movie and the coins on December, or the movie. Even being the fan of SW, looking more closely - it became annoying, how the mints overusing the "Animation / Movie / Comics Characters" theme....

At the age of 89, I wonder if the Queen has any idea that her stately profile shares the flip side with pretend figures?

The Queen's effigy has appeared on circulation coin ever since 1953 in both Great Britain and in it's onetime colonies, so I don't imagine that's a surprise to her. But notice the Mint coin of UK? http://www.royalmint.comIt celebrates significant historical events and such, no gimmicky stuff that I noticed. I have no idea if Canada pays licence fees or not, given we have the right to issue "coin"...and RCM indeed does call it that. But the path RCM has taken does seem a tad tacky to me. I wonder how the next monarchy might feel about sharing a coin with Bugs Bunny or Wondergirl?

That link to the 'Royal UK Mint' says it all with regards to the poppycock that the Royal Cdn Mint has been producing these past few years. It was a little bit of uplifting feeling to see superman - the first time. It's been three years now. Once was enough. As for Looney Tunes - it never should have happened. Then again, the UK has multiple centuries of history to dig from for different commemorative coins... while our measly 150 years ..... well, with our current government... I guess Looney Tunes is apropo.

OMG...thanks to the members on other forum for providing URLs and pictures. No, not RCM, but we here have to be aware. The Real Gods series issued with currently un-known Mint, to replace the awful "Australian Gods series" by Perth. The German dealer already have them for pre-sale, EUR 109.95, mintage 1000. Well...happens what suppose to happen....only to dump the previous series as soon as possible, and to get loaded with real coins.

So, it all confirmed: innovative and first time, created with new "Max Relief" technology Norsk Gods series. Not on the RCM website even soon, but check the other forum for news. Odin, after it Thor, Loki....(are they DC or Marvell?) except the technology, have a little common with numismatics, but promised to be next "hot" item. ADDED: Available for ordering....but price is a problem: $180 - for what?3oz silver, not for serious collectors, just another bullion-like gimmick, commissioned by Choice Bullion ....who will want it - only for quick resell to the buyers who do not understand in the coins. But people are loading as much as they can. anyway the orders could be placed here: https://firstcoincompany.com/S/toke...minting-3-ozand here: http://www.choicebullion.com/2016-l...-silver-coinAdded more: Someone's pathetic decision to flood the market with different Odin coins, checked the ebay and here 1oz version of coin, mintage 2000, for $80 only.: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1-OZ-SILVER-...em43da91a3df
