I am new to this forum and need some help! I have researched topics and still scratching my head. Any idea on this one?

Looks like it suffered from some pretty severe road rash. PMD in my opinion.

My original thought...but the grooves around the perimeter of the coin are exactly the same width, the "LIB" area of Liberty is significantly thicker than the rest of the coin and there is an obvious die crack running from the corner of his mouth towards "TRUST". I feel this is a mint error...lots going on here.

It is not my opinion that this coin left the mint in that condition.
