As a lot of you know, I will be submitting at least one of my Eisenhower sets to be graded (I'm still contemplating whether I want to submit the 2nd one I'm keeping). I also want to submit my American Liberty High Relief Gold coins when they arrive in from backorder (hopefully before the ER cutoff for the Eisenhower set). It looks like from pricing the grading, I have to list the liberty coins on a separate invoice since they won't meet the dollar value limit to qualify for modern pricing.

Does NGC allow you to submit more than one invoice in a package, and will they ship everything back in one package to consolidate and save the shipping? It would be convenient if I can avoid separate shipping charges and just get them back in one package. Plus if they do one package, I'll just have them send via USPS, if separate, my UPS account number would be cheaper.

Call NGC to be sure but here's my experience:
1. Yes, use multiple invoices for different tiers and put them all in one package.
2. No guarantee but you could request both orders be returned together.
3. Usually your choice (USPS or UPS) so confirm charges. They build USPS charges into their income model so you might save some $$ here using UPS.

Thanks

I compared the price on shipping, if they did one package with both the liberty coins and Eisenhower sets, it would be cheaper to do USPS from them. If they shipped two packages or if I just shipped the Eisenhower sets, UPS would be cheaper with my account.

I emailed them and they replied saying they will hold and ship to one box, so I'll probably include a letter saying ship USPS if together and UPS if they have to be separate. Hopefully in practice they actually do send them together.

You may want to check to confirm that UPS does offer coin insurance as I have read they do not offer coin or bullion insurance. Most dealers that ship UPS or Fed Ex have private coin insurance.

They do not. I don't mind shipping the C&C sets off without insurance as that's only $100 (despite losing out on potential appreciation). It's if I send out the gold liberty coins along with the C&C that has me wanting to insure. I'll probably just do registered mail.
