My mom has this ziplock baggy full of coins from many countries and this dime is in there. With the damage would this still be a FSB? Also, a grade if possible with these pics. Sorry that they aren't the best, I've never been any good at photographing dimes.

I'm pretty sure on the Roosevelt dime the vertical lines on torch also have to be full. yours are not.

TBOP isn't incorrect. It seems to be a bit of a messy situation, being the fact there are two designations: Full Torch and Full Bands. FT and FB.

PCGS uses FB. Here's the link: http://www.pcgs.com/News/Pcgs-To-Ad...sevelt-Dimes
Here is a quote "requires that both the upper and lower pair of bands on the torch be distinct and show full separation. The line dividing the bands must be complete and unbroken."

NGC uses FT. Here's the link: http://www.ngccoin.com/news/viewart...rticleID=426
Here is a quote "The designation FT for Full Torch will be applied to Roosevelt dimes having both upper and lower pair of horizontal bands split as well as the vertical lines of the torch being defined."

So basically if you're going by PCGS, your coin is easily FB. If we go by NGC standards your coin just misses out due to the left sides about the touch not being unbroken.

Hope this helps.

Duncanbishop - thanks for the very precise answer. I haven't collected Roosevelt's for a kazillion years, but the explanation and the links gave me the exact information that I'll be able to remember when I do look at a few of those.

Don't know much about the fsb criteria -- except on Mercuries, because I collected them for a while -- but imo those are pretty good pics of a dime. And a pretty good looking dime as well.

Thanks duncanbishop, good read. Looks like the reason I can't find them was because I assumed they have the same notation as Mercs.

I presume FB/FTs are more common now as the coin is in low relief?
