Hi I am new to the community, I found this quarter that I am confused on, is this an error coin it is missing the ear a small patch above the ear and looks to be a hole in the eye, Any help is greatly appreciated!

That does look cool ! Those areas are the victims of abrasion. For some reason, possibly to remove a clash, those areas were dressed down and the details were removed

The flat spots in the design were caused by excessive die polishing removing shallow detail of the die design. Dies are typically resurfaced after a clash event(two dies colliding without being separated by a planchet) or other type of minor damage and if the mint worker is too aggressive, some fine detail may be removed. The nose bridge is a common spot to find this flatness as seen on this "broken nose" Mercury dime pictured below.

Thanks to both of yall, I thought it was grease on the die. But am very new to this, thanks for teaching me what it is! so is this something someone would keep just for fun or should I spend it ? as I do not collect myself just look for odd balls

Welcome to Coin Community, coinclutz. This coin definitely qualifies as "oddball" due to the excessive polishing. Not more valuable, but as a fellow "oddball" aficionado it'd be staying with me if I'd found it.
