Is this Deterioration? Or MD? I can see the doubling
front and back, but still can't figure out what I'm seeing. Nice looking nickel though. Looks like it's
brand new.

Thank you Coop. I will try to get better pictures and
re-do it tomorrow. I was having a hard time with the lighting
and the nickel was very shiny which I thought was odd
being a 1964 coin. I will try another way tomorrow and
hopefully you guys can help me out with this one.

Thank you for trying.

If it's not too hot a light source try putting tissue paper between the light and the coin. Caution, a hot light source will ignight the paper!

You can diffuse the light and reduce the excess light. I've even used two sheets of paper to reduce the excess light. This works good for full image shots.

The image were taken from a camera with a "macro" feature. I use this system to show color of the central coin for full image shots. On closeup images I take images through a microscope with limited lighting. (14W bulb - 12V power source))

Thank you Stoneman and Coop.
I'll have to set up some lighting like this.
I use the same light but didn't use the paper,
great idea! I'll be back later with hopefully better
pictures. Thank you.

PS Coop I love that Terrace Coin. That's
absolutely beautiful!
