I'm doing research on these German States (Westphalia?) silver bracelets with old coins attached, that range in date from the 1760s back to the 1500s. I am looking for more information. Many of the coins seem to come from Paderborn, such as the 1765-dated, 24 Mariengrosch of William Anton, a one year type. There are two identical 1715-dated, 6 Mariengrosch of Franz Arnold of Paderborn, not listed in my edition of Krause. What festival would have caused these jingling bracelets to be worn? Can you tell by the other coins anything more. The bracelets are unmarked but one says "Sterling by Dori" and they would seem to be a matched set, capable of adequately festooning one's wrists in wealth. Neat!

Some prefer the coins as jewelry, some would prefer the coins as coins, despite the damage to them.
Personally I would like to see them as coins in MY collection.
I would still keep the bracelet however and perhaps attach some other sorts of silver collectible baubles to it.
