1836 Bust Half Dime

Hello all, I am new to this forum so forgive any mistakes I make. I have a 1936 Bust Half Dime that appears to have an over struck 3/3. As it is unlike the 3 over 3 inverted overstrike, I would like some advice as to its variety. I don't think it is just a Mechanical Doubling as due to its separation(the center of the overstruck 3 is north and east to the other 3. Unfortunately, there is damage to the coin so value is somewhat of a moot point. I would just like to know if this is an overstrike or what. Thanks in advance. Jim

Looks to me that there's something going on there...but I'll wait until more experienced guys check in on this one.

I agree. They knew how to pack a lot of detail in a small area back then.

I am also interested to find out what the experts have to say about this potential variety.

that a Fine 1/2 dime!! I think it list in the CPG a repunched date.

No, AMAC44, CPG didn't list the 1836 at all. It did list the 1834 rpd. Thanks for mentioning it, though.
