I live way down in West Va.and I find all kinds of Canadian coins .On average 1 penny per 2 rolls.I found a 1990 gold dollar ,lots of nickels,dimes,even a 5 cent silver.

Hi C ball, That 1 gold dollar is there a loon on it? If there is then I'm sorry but it's probably not gold (they just look like it) . It's most likely a regular canadian dollar, we call it a loonie. They started to make them in 1987 up to now. From 1997 to 2001, you can only get them in a mint set.

Yes theres a loon on the back,Ijust meant it was gold color.I think why so many Canadian coins show up in our area is ,we're right on I-79 north to south from Erie,PA to Florida..

It's a bank issue. I guess we all have this idea of Canadians being down in Florida and using their coins.

But I'm a guessing that the banks get them from central locations and it doesn't matter where you are located. If you're in West Virgina you'll get about as many Canadian coins as someone in Minnesota - well maybe the border states will have a few more.....

I Live N.B Canada I Went to Maine I put 10 roll cents out of 10 I got 1.25 in us today don

I know this is very late, on this thread, but in SOuthern CA, I find a Canadian cent about every four, or five boxes! But, I have a secret! I am on the receiving end of half-a-box of Canadian cents! We are swapping roll-for-roll, and "eating the S&H", on each end. To me, it is well worth the cost. I don't have to buy so many boxes from the bank to look for them!
