I just received this 1914 Barber quarter in today's mail. I bought it as a BU coin. The reverse looks great to me. The obverse has some very faint lines on Liberty's neck and a couple of small bag marks on the cheek.

Do folks think it makes Uncirculated? I don't know about the faint lines - if they show circulation or not, because I can't detect any other signs of circulation.

Thanks for your opinions.

I took the photos with different lighting. The coin is still in the seller's holder in case I return it.

From these pics, it does not look uncirculated to me.

What leads you to say it's cleaned?

The hairlines on the portrait are characteristic of a coin that received a light wipe in the past. Lets see what others think.

Yeah, the fields are nice with luster, but the hairlines are a bit concerning on the portrait.

The obverse looks like it's been cleaned/cloth rubbed. I would suggest sending it back, unless you purchased it at low money knowing that it was cleaned.

soft cleaning, visible on the obverse, most noted in the head and face.
Rest in Peace

I do have a fourteen day return privilege and just got the coin today. That's why I've kept it in the holder.

I got it for AU money, but think I will return it if it has been wiped.
