I have examples of many coin types, but I haven't yet put them together into a type coin album nor made specific attempt to acquire types I don't have. It's time to do so.

What do folks recommend for a type coin album?

Apparently, the Dansco 7070 is not available (except used).

I have Dansco and Intercept Shield albums.

Yeah, the Danco 7070 album was the past favorite, but is now discontinued. Intercept Shield makes a decent US type album (Wizard Coin Supply has them). Whitman and Littleton have 20th century type albums. Littleton also has a 19th century type album. Of course you could make your own with a ring binder notebook and 2X2 pages.

I think the 7070 is the best choice and it is a shame it is difficult to find.

The Intercept Shield is a good alternative. Since you already have some I would go with that.

You can get the 7070 for around $50 on ebay if your patient enough. I've been watching every listing of it and $50-$70 is the going price.

Contact brick & mortar Coin Dealers as there may still be a few new ones sitting on the shelves in their stores.

Why not just make your own. Get some of those plastic, 20 slot pages that go into a 3 ringed binder. Then you can move them around, place in any order you want, decide what you want and where and when.

I second calling coin shops. I just recently picked up a 7070 used with minimal abuse for $10.00. They are out there new and used if you are willing to do a little leg work.

A buddy just bought a 7070 from the LCS, it had over a dozen coins in it. He paid $25, and sold me the empty album for $50.

I recently picked up a 7070 for $60 bucks and sold the gold page for $30...so my net cost was $30 for the pages I will use. I feel pretty lucky. Now I just have to fill the dang thing!
