Does anyone here like to collect coins that have weird or interesting damage? If you have some you've collected then please post them.
I will post a few of mine later.

Not my cup of tea right now, but I could easily see myself finding interest in the topic. We see so_much_stuff around here where the question "Are we sure this is postmint?" comes up as a valid discussion point. Those, to me, are really cool coins.

People collect counter stamped coins, Encased Coins, plated coins, painted coins, and love tokens, all of which are post mint damaged coins. So, yes people collect them, but if you mean parking lot coins, I do see there ever being a market for something like that.

I have saved a few coins that are so beat up that they're hilarious. Here's a quarter my friend found in the Gulf Islands in B.C. several years ago. It was along a rocky beach and I have no idea how he found it. I scratched some of the gunk off to reveal that it was dated 2006.

Geez Shoeplier, that's rough.
Maybe thrown off a boat and spent some time in the sea before washing up ashore?

Yeah, like that, Shoeplier. Spectacular. You shouldn't be able to tell that was once legal tender.

I have found a few interesting ones. Drilled, painted, plated, etc. No punched coins yet, unfortunately. I'll see if can scare them up and take a few photos.

I found one where the surface was flaking off after probably being in a house fire. You can literally pull off the lincoln memorial.
