VAM-6 was at one time also VAMs 1F and 1G; as research progressed the latter were found to be different die states of VAM-6. This is how VAMs 6A and 6B came to be. They are differentiated by the number of visible clashes and presence or absence of clashed letter transfer. 6A and B were not defined prior to 2010, so the accuracy of the attribution on your coin might depend on when it was slabbed.
Well worth investigating further.
It's an interesting series, but not really uncommon with the possible exception of 6B, so value likely wouldn't change unless it's among the highest-graded of the subvariety. At MS64, this is quite possible.
